The board of Nebraskaland Days, the state's largest celebration, has changed the format for this year's concerts. This year, the concerts will come after a four-day break from Nebraskaland Days festivities. The board gave several reasons for this change. For one, it will make life easier for die-hard Nebraskaland Days attendees, who will get a little time off between parade weekend and concert weekend to regroup and maybe get a little work done. Also, organizers feared that having the celebration's concerts on the traditional Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights meant a lot of out-of-towners were unable to attend because of work or other obligations. Instead, the concerts will span two days, Friday night and the Saturday afternoon and evening, on the weekend after the conclusion of the rest of the Nebraskaland Days festivities. This is a departure from a schedule that has been in effect since the 1960s, when Nebraskaland Days moved from Lincoln to North Platte. What do you think of the new concert schedule? |
