According to The Lincoln Journal Star, UNL head football coach Frank Solich will be asked by athletic director Steve Pederson after the Nebraska-Colorado to retire.

Solich took over in 1998 and has a winning record of 57-22, but the Huskers have been inconsistent and last year the team finished without a winning record for the first time since 1961, going 7-7.
