After much debate and controversy, construction on a new Menards lumber store will begin this fall. Part of the debate is that this lumber and hardware giant will hurt some smaller businesses owned by North Platte and area people, and that money spent at Menards will leave town. We would like to know how many people already go out of town to shop at Menards and other retail stores not available in North Platte.
  I take out-of-town shopping trips on a regular basis. 358 19%
  I make puchases over the Internet on a regular basis. 263 14%
  I use the Internet and go out of town on a regular basis. 366 19%
  I only buy outside of North Platte when I can't get what I need here. 300 16%
