Harold  Dean  George
     Harold Dean George, 91, of North Platte passed away Monday, May 27, 2013 at his home in North Platte. He was born Feb. 17, 1922 at Loup City to William and Mabel Elsie Meese George.
     Harold lived in Loup City until the family moved to Arcadia in 1935 and he graduated from Arcadia High School in 1940. Harold later moved with his folks to Omaha then to North Platte in 1943.
     On May 12, 1943, Harold married Lilus Alvina Frahm at Ogallala. They made their home in North Platte where he was a herdsman for Sunny Slope Farms for 15 years. Harold then farmed for himself and worked with the Union Pacific Railroad from 1963-1981.
     Harold was a member of the North Platte Berean Church.
     He is survived by his sons, Tim (Georgia) George of Cheyenne, Wyo. and Tom George of North Platte; his daughter, Rebecca (Mike) Fischbeck of Northglenn, Colo.; seven grandchildren, Kevin (Naomi) George, Bradley George, Matt Lindley, Jonathan Niehus, Jason (Veronica) Niehus, Carrie George and Trevor George; six great-grandchildren, Shianne, Austin, Sterling, Joseph, Jeremy and Samantha; many nieces, nephews and other family.
     Harold was preceded in death by his wife, his infant son, Mark; his parents; seven sisters, Loye White, Irene Slifka, Shirley Coleman, Betty Smolik, Alice Knapp, Opal Krause and Dorothy Frickey; and four brothers, Ralph, Roy, Max and Donald George.
     Memorials can be made to Maranatha Bible Camp.
     Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the Berean Church with Pastor John Stone officiating. Burial will follow in the North Platte Cemetery. Odean Colonial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
