Kristie  Ann  Bartlett
     Kristie Ann (Rodine) Bartlett, 58, of Cozad, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Jan. 22 at the Cozad Community Hospital. She was born Aug. 12, 1954 at Fort Sill, Okla., daughter of Wallace and Delores (Bailey) Rodine.
     Kristie moved with her family to Custer County, north of Gothenburg where she attended country school at New Hope. She was very active in the New Hope Church and the New Hope Community.
     Sunday school and church was to be an important part of Kristie''s life. She was a member of the Cozad Bible Church, where she was active in Sunday school and adventure club.
     Kristie graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1973, and later earned her BA in Early Childhood Elementary Education from UNK.
     On Sept. 11, 1976, she married Joe Bartlett at the Evangelical-Free Church in Gothenburg and this union was blessed with two children, Mara, and Brody.
     Kristie taught preschool in Gothenburg and was a special education teacher at Brady and Lexington High School. She was passionate about education, her garden, and working with children.
     She enjoyed serving others through education and working with youth in the areas she taught. She also had a great love of music and enjoyed sharing that with family, friends and her church communities.
     Survivors are her husband, daughter Mara (Todd) Teske Minneapolis, Minn.; son Brody Bartlett of Lincoln, father of North Platte, mother of Gothenburg; sister Angela (Shawn) Henley of Pleasanton, Calif.; brother Randy Rodine of Houston, Tex.; father-in-law Roy Bartlett of Gothenburg; brother-in-law Ross (Mary) Bartlett of Gothenburg, sister-in-law Robin Bartlett of Denver, Colo.; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
     Kristie was preceded in death by her grandparents Ted and Nora Rodine and her mother-in-law Catherine Bartlett.
     Memorials may be directed to the Cozad Bible Church, 1602 Ave. O, Cozad, NE 69130.
     Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 2 at First Baptist Church in Gothenburg. Blasť-Strauser Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
