Jennifer  Ellen  June  48
Jennifer Ellen June, age 48, of Milford, the loving wife of Philip June, passed away in her home with her family around her on Tuesday, January 8, 2013.
She was born in North Platte, NE to Mary Beth Matson Dodson of North Platte and the late James Dodson on September 4, 1964.
Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nebraska.
Before she was a wife and mother, Jennifer spent seven years in professional theatre, working in costuming at the Santa Fe Opera and in the Longwharf Theatre in New Haven, CT. Before she was 30, she had had many life experiences. While still in the University of Nebraska, she appeared in the movie "Terms of Endearment."
She was personal friends with Stephanie Zimbalist, Linda Purl, Julie Harris, Charles Nelson Reilly, Tom Berenger, Kevin Spacey, Mary McDonald; and knew Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward, Katherine Hepburn, Robert Redford and many others.
Two years ago, Linda Purl had the bright idea to fly her to Hollywood for the 25th anniversary of the play "Baby Dance," in which they had worked together on Broadway. Jennifer was to be Purl''s "Show and Tell" surprise. She had a wonderful time reconnecting with the actors, directors, producers, stage hands and muscians that she had known in New York.
Along with Phil, she was the co-owner of the Beachcomber in Milford.
Besides her mother and husband, she is survived by her dedicated children Alexander, Christopher, Philip, Stephanie and Samuel June all of Milford, brother Kelly Dodson (Bonnie) of San Diego, CA, sisters Erin Call (Bob) of Fort Collins, CO and Amy Lugsch (David) of Persia, Iowa, mother-in-law Antoinette June of Stratford, CT, sisters-in-law Regina June Gezelman (Lee) of New Britain, CT and Dianne Auger (Joseph) of Stratford, CT, many beloved nieces and nephews, and family member Tyler Brennan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 1 p.m. in St. Mary''s Church, Gulf St. Milford. Interment will be private.
Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford is handling the arrangements.
