Mary  E.  Hupfer
     In remembrance, Mary E. Hupfer, 80, of Milwaukie, Oreg., formerly of North Platte, suddenly passed away a year ago on Jan. 29, 2012 as result of a brain aneurysm. She was born Sept. 20, 1931 in Kearney as one of two children.
     Mary went to Washington grade school in North Platte and graduated from North Platte High School in 1949. She was a cheerleader, student body president her senior year and married her high school sweetheart, Bill for 61 years. Mary was a loving mother of two, Betty Grant (Clem), and Billy Hupfer; three grand children, and two great grandchildren.
     Mary was strongly active with her family and in her community as past PTA president of her children''s schools, member of women''s league of voters, board of directors of Brooklyn Fed. Credit Union.
     Mary''s interests were tennis and dance. She was also a member of the Duck Club since 1970.
     Mary has strong influence on her children. Her son, Billy, went to the University of Oregon on a football scholarship and her daughter, Betty, was Miss Oregon in 1975.
     Her memorial service was Feb. 4 at Milwaukie Lutheran Church. Peake Funeral Chapel in Milwaukie was in charge of arrangements.
