Lucille ''Chana'' Torrez Cervantez, 87, of Hershey died Thursday, November 8, at the North Platte Care Center in North Platte. Lucille was born January 9, 1925, to Thomas and Junita Torrez Cervantez at Sutherland. She grew up in the Hershey area and attended country school and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hershey. Lucille ''Chana'' is survived by her sister, Jacqueline ''Mary'' (Pete) Torrez, of Greeley, Colo.; a half brother, Juan Cervantez, of Laredo, Tex.; two sisters-in-law, Frances Cervantez, of Hershey and Rose Cervantez, of Omaha; many nieces, nephews, including Christopher Hernandez of North Platte and other family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Juanita Cervantez; five sisters, Concha Cervantez, Angelina Cervantez, Abrora Hernandez, Maximinia Cervantez and an infant sister; four brothers, Henry, Jesse, Michael and Valinte ''Harlan'' Cervantez; and a nephew, Steven Hernandez. Cremation was chosen. Mass of Christian Burial was 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 13 at St. Patrick''s Catholic Church with Fr. Jim Golka as celebrant. Inurnment was in the North Platte Cemetery. Odean Colonial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
