Marvon
David
Edelman
Marvon David Edelman passed away peacefully at his home in Mullen on August 11 after a courageous battle with cancer. Marvon was born on March 26, 1932 to Clyde and Eula Pearman Edelman on their ranch six miles north of Seneca, NE. Marvon attended Jimtown country School and Seneca School. He grew up breaking and riding horses. He worked on many area ranches in the sand hills. He worked for Boeing in Wichita, KS. He lived with his brother Bud and sister in-law Margorie. He came back to the sand hills and met and married Charleen Butler on July 26, 1954. He worked in the oil fields in Kimball, NE. He worked for Franke''s Construction, Missouri Valley Construction and came to work for the city of Mullen, later becoming the Superintendent for the city. He later owned and operated his own trucking Company and developed his own mineral feed for cattle in the sand hills area. Marvon and Charleen raised nine children and love them all. Marvon loved for all his family to get together at home. He so enjoyed his 23 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. He leaves behind his wife Charleen Edelman of 58 years, and his children Linda and Dan Miyagi, Fort Collins, CO. John and Terria Hampton, Arthur, NE. Earleen and Steve Printz, Owasso, OK. Eula and Charlie Younkin, Rushville, NE. Kim Minor, North Platte. Calleen and Glenn Andrews, Gordon, NE. Von and Tom Roseberry, Minatare, NE. Kelly and Dean McCaffery, North Platte. Marvon had 23 loving grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that he so loved. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers William Clyde and Edith Edelman, Biloxi, MS. Bud Wes Edelman, Caldwell, KS. Ted and Gloria Edelman, Arnold, NE. Dick and Bonnie Edelman of Mullen. A son, Richard of Santé Fe, TX and granddaughter Christy Teahon, Fort Collins. A granddaughter Chana Miyagi of Fort Collins. He was very much loved and will be sorely missed by his family and many friends. We love you Dad, Grandpa and Pa Pa. Marvon was very proud of his heritage and the sand hills. We will truly miss your big laughter, wonderful sense of humor and stories of your legacy will live on in the hearts of all of us. Memorial funeral services will be held Friday, August 17 at 2 p.m. MDT, at the Seneca Auditorium in Seneca. Memorials are to United Methodist Church of Mullen or Seneca Cemetery. Mullen Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
