Lee
Aden
Lyle Lee Aden, 67, of Gothenburg, died July 31 in Gothenburg. He was born March 2, 1945 at Gothenburg, son of Alvin and Pauline (Garrelts) Aden. Lyle grew up northeast of Gothenburg on the family farm. He graduated from Cozad High School. He lived in the Gothenburg and North Platte area. He farmed, worked for the North Platte Fire Department and the UPRR. Lyle married Peggy Atkinson-Johnson on October 26, 1985 at Banner United Methodist Church, Gothenburg. He was a member of the Banner United Methodist Church where he served on many church committees. He enjoyed camping, gardening and always had a good joke. Surviving are wife, Peggy Aden of Gothenburg, daughter - Brenda Hayes; two sons - Kelly Aden, Joel (Kim) Aden; three step-sons - David Johnson, Mike (Marci) Johnson, Mike (Jeremy) Wonch; two step-daughters - Chris (Randy) Roenfeldt, Melanie Hall; two sisters - Phyl (Karl) Kostbahn, Marian (Don) Knauss; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; mother-in-law - Jean Atkinson; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, and grandson, Cory Went. Services were held at Banner United Methodist Church, Saturday, August 4 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Janie Freeman officiating. Interment will follow in the Peckham Cemetery, Gothenburg. Memorials may be given to the Banner United Methodist Church, PO Box 96, Brady, NE 69123.
