Jeanne
Sculley
Jeanne Sculley, age 90 of Lexington, passed away on Tuesday, June 12 at the Plum Creek Care Center in Lexington.
Jeanne was born on December 27, 1921 at Gothenburg to Karl and Anna (Mundell) Swanson. Jeanne graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1938. She later attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, where she obtained at bachelors degree in Home Economics. While at Colorado State, he was active in the Tri Delta Sorority.
Jeanne married Floyd Sculley on September 19, 1944 at Gothenburg. Following their nuptials, Jeanne and Floyd traveled the Midwest in a Jazz Band before making their home in Gothenburg. While in Gothenburg, the couple owned and operated the Dixie Coffee Shop for a number of years before moving to Cozad in 1952. While in the Cozad area, the couple farmed northeast of town. In 1958 they adopted their son, Mike. The family moved to Johnson Lake in 1976. Following the passing of her husband, in 1991, Jeanne made her home briefly at Johnson Lake before returning to Cozad. In more recent years, she resided in Lexington at Park Avenue Estates and the Plum Creek Care Center.
Jeanne enjoyed playing bridge, reading and going shopping. She loved travel, with her favorite destinations being the Colorado Rocky Mountains and Hawaii. Jeanne and Floyd were avid Husker football fans. They were season ticket holders for over 50 years. Jeanne always held a special place in her heart for her family and she always attended her grandchildren''s activities when she was able. Her life''s fulfillment was for her family and their happiness.
Jeanne was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cozad and was a past member in the Cozad Does.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd and infant granddaughter, Elizabeth in 1991.
Jeanne is lovingly survived by her son, Mike (Ella Mae) Sculley of North Platte; sister-in-law, Kay (Arlin) Osborn of Cozad; 3 grandchildren, Joseph Sculley and special friend, Brita Lehmkuhler of North Platte, Sarah (Oscar) De La Torre of Lexington and Megan Sculley of Lexington and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Services were held on Thursday, June 14 at 1:30 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel in Cozad with Father Don O''Brien officiating. Burial was in the Cozad Cemetery.
Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad was in charge of arrangements.
