• Prairie Arts Center (416 S. Jeffers) - Bridges Sesquicentennial Photo Winners, traveling photo exhibit linked to history, generations and cultures. Presented by Hildegard Center, Aug. – Sept. 22, open 11 a.m.–4 p.m. Tues.-Sat.

• NP Art & Gift Gallery (516 N. Dewey) – Art displays by members. The Abstract Experimentation art show opens Aug. 9. Hours: 11 a.m.–5 p.m. Tues.-Sat.

• Old Fox theater (5th and Bailey) – Classic movie – Rudy. A diminutive underdog is obsessed with joining Notre Dame's football team. Based on actual events. 7 p.m. $5.   

 

Saturday, Sept. 2

• Platte River Mall (1000 S. Dewey) - Farmer’s Market, west parking lot. 7:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

• Old Fox theater (5th and Bailey) – Classic movie – Rudy. A diminutive underdog is obsessed with joining Notre Dame's football team. Based on actual events. 3 p.m. matinee. $5.

• Sutherland Longhorn Bar (830 First St.) --  Hurricane Harvey Fundraiser and Husker football party. Free pulled pork sandwiches, feel free to bring sides to share. 7–11 p.m. Half of all sales go toward Hurricane Harvey relief through the charities of Building For Hope and All Hands Volunteers.

Sunday, Sept. 3

• North Platte Public Library (120 W. Fourth) - Author Jeff Barnes presents A Man in a Better Place: Jesse James in Nebraska. Noon. No charge. Call library at 535-8036, ext. 3310 to reserve a seat.

• North Platte Community College, south campus theater (xxx ) -- Preview screening of the new Ken Burns’ documentary The Vietnam War. 7 p.m. No charge but seating is limited.

 

Friday, Sept. 8

• Best Western Hotel (3201 S Jeffers) - Col. Cody’s Cruise Show & Shine, registration 3-8 p.m. Kick off BBQ party 6-8 p.m.

• Great Plains Health, south entrance (601 W. Leota) - GPFit! Health Fair. 11 a.m.-4 p.m. low-cost lab profiles, biometrics, stroke screenings, glaucoma screenings, depression and anxiety screenings, healthy cooking demonstrations and more. No charge.

• Espresso Shop (419 N. Dewey) – Open Mic Nite. $2 donation suggested. Refreshments on sale. 7-9:30 p.m.

 

Saturday, Sept. 9

• Downtown North Platte (on the bricks) - Col. Cody’s Cruise Show & Shine, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

• Great Plains Health, south entrance (601 W. Leota) GPFit! Health Fair continues. 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Low-cost lab profiles, biometrics, stroke screenings, glaucoma screenings, depression and anxiety screenings, healthy cooking demonstrations. No charge.

• Golden Spike Tower and Visitor Center (1249 N. Homestead Road) – Li’l Spike conductors club. 3 p.m. Learn about trains, enjoy a snack, create something to take home. $5 per child, parents free. Second Saturday each month.

• D&N Event Center (501 E Walker Rd) – Col. Cody’s cruise show and shine dinner 6 p.m. raffle, games.

 

Sunday, Sept. 10

• D & N Event Center (501 E Walker Rd) - Col. Cody’s Cruise Show & Shine, Church Service 9 a.m. Awards, major door prizes 9:30 a.m.

• Cody Park (1400 N. Jeffers) – Arts in the Park. More than 100 booths of unique arts, crafts & vendors. Food, entertainment. No admission charge.
