Jacob Granger, the son of Stephen and Jill Granger, has been involved with scouting since 2006. He crossed over to scouting at the Arrow of Light ceremony on Feb. 13, 2011. Granger advanced through scouting to the highest rank of Eagle Scout on June 23, 2016. He was recently voted into the Order of the Arrow and will continue his scouting career.
Jacob has served the leadership positions of Patrol Leader, Scribe and Quartermaster. He has attended Boy Scout Camps at Laramie Peaks, Camp Hansen, Charles L. Sommers Base Camp, Ben de la Tour, Camp Cornhusker, Medicine Mountain, and Lewis and Clark.
Other outdoor activities include Wilderness survival training prior to the Boundary Water Adventure in Canada, ski trip to Snowy Range, white water rafting at Echo Canyon, Buffalo Bill Rendezvous, Air Force Academy and several Merit Badge University trips.
Jacob has earned 49 merit badges as well as the World Conservation badge and the 50 miler canoe badge.
Jacob’s Eagle Scout project was re-organizing all of St. Patrick’s Catholic School’s sheet music into a database as well as removing all the furniture from the music room to clean and repair the existing carpet.
The database incorporated 10 four-drawer vertical file cabinets that are now available for all staff and students at the school.
Jacob is currently a senior at St. Patrick’s High School and is the current president of both National Honor Society and the senior class. He is also a member of student council, competes in speech and drama, cross country, chorus, and the Saintsation Show Choir.
Jacob is an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church where he is an altar server and Eucharistic minister.
