Movies at the AMC Classic North Platte 6 (Platte River Mall) – “Valerian” “Despicable Me 3” “Spider-Man Home-coming” “Atomic Blonde” “War For The Planet Of the Apes” “Dunkirk” “The Big Sick”.  Schedule subject to change, see www.amctheatres.com.

• Prairie Arts Center (416 S. Jeffers) - Bridges Sesquicentennial Photo Winners, traveling photo exhibit linked to history, generations and cultures. Presented by Hildegard Center, Aug. – Sept. 22, open 11 a.m.–4 p.m. Tues.-Sat.

• NP Art & Gift Gallery (516 N. Dewey) – Art displays by members. The Abstract Experimentation art show opens Aug. 9. Hours: 11 a.m.–5 p.m. Tues.-Sat.

• Cody Park concessions & rides (1601 N. Jeffers) - 11 a.m.–10 p.m. daily.

• Buffalo Bill Ranch State Historical Park — Guided tours, Saturdays and Sundays from 9–5 of house, barn and grounds. Call (308) 535-8035 to make arrangements.

• Platte River Mall (1000 S. Dewey) - Farmer’s Market, west parking lot 3-6 p.m.

• Fort Cody Trading Post (I-80 & US 83 junction) – Rockabilly music by The Time Burners. $5. Guitar phenomenon Jack Bunger of North Platte opens the show. 6-9 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 4

• Downtown  (621 East Front St) -150 anniversary streamliner train. Gov. Pete Ricketts and retired astronaunt Clayton Anderson, with other dignataries. 4– 6:30 p.m. No charge. Free meal.

• Iron Horse Lake (Veterans Memorial Park) - Family Fishing Night. Ages 16 or older need a 2017 fishing permit. No other charge. Gear, instructions provided. 6–8 pm.

• Kelsey’s Place (219 W. Rodeo Rd) – Karaoke every Friday. 7 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 5

• Platte River Mall (1000 S. Dewey) - Farmer’s Market, front parking lot. 7:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

• Community of Brady - Brady Days (two days). Parade, food, games. Fun for the family. Music by Crazy Alice, 8:30 p.m.

• Lincoln County Historical Museum (2403 N. Buffalo Bill Rd) – Corn Feed, all the sweet corn you can eat for lunch. Adults (11 & up) $10, children $6, ages 5 & under free. Live music, fun jumpz, free museum admission, 11:30-2 p.m.


Sunday, Aug. 6

• Community of Brady - Brady Days continues, fun for the family.

• Camp Maranatha (16800 W. Maranatha Rd) - Open waterfront, tubing, 100 ft. water slide, canoes, paddle boats & kayaks; blob, pool and sweet shop. Cookout 5:30 p.m. Cost: $8/person; $48/households of 6 or more. Opens at 2 p.m., waterfront closes 6 p.m.

Tuesday, Aug 8

• Platte River Mall (1000 S. Dewey) - Farmer’s Market, front parking lot 3-6 p.m.


Wednesday, Aug 9

• 21 Dance Club, Senior Center (900 E. 10th) – Lou Kraus, 7-9:30 p.m. Open to public. Bring finger food, $5.

• VFW (2100 E 4th) - Bingo 6:45 p.m.


Thursday, Aug 10

• Platte River Mall (1000 S. Dewey) - Farmer’s Market, front parking lot 3-6 p.m.

• Fort Cody Trading Post (I-80 & US 83 junction) – Americana/folk music by The Wildwoods, $5.  Erin Nicole of North Platte opens. 6-9 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 11

• Espresso Shop (near Fifth and Dewey downtown) – Open Mic Nite. Freewill donation. Refreshments on sale. 7-9:30 p.m.

• Kelsey’s Place (219 W. Rodeo Rd) – Karaoke 7 p.m.

• Centennial Park (1100 W. Francis) - Movies in the Park, The Secret Life of Pets. No charge. Bring lawn chairs, blanket and snacks. Starts at dusk. Bad weather site is the nearby Rec Center.

• Quality Inn & Suites, 2102 S Jeffers St) - Diamonds and Divas, an entertaining night for women.  Booths, auction, giveaways & more! 5–9 p.m.

 

Saturday, Aug.12

• Platte River Mall (1000 S. Dewey) - Farmer’s Market, front parking lot. 7:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

• Lincoln County Raceway (5105 West Highway 30) - Race day, gates open 4 p.m. hot laps 5:30 p.m., green flag drops 6:30 p.m. Admission $10; kids (6-12) $5; kids 5 & under free; Pit pass $25, 4–8 p.m.
