North Platte police arrested a Big Springs man Monday in a sting operation, charging him with trying to sell them stolen goods.

The investigation began in North Platte on Monday, after the Sidney Police Department told the North Platte Police that Stephen Barber, 26, had six diesel fuel injectors valued at $4,110 for a Cummings diesel engine.

The injectors were reportedly stolen from Maddox Motors of Sidney.

Police spokesmand Rodney Brown said that Barber contacted employees Friday at Ag & Auto Diesel in North Platte and tried to sell the injectors to them.

After receiving this information, investigators set up a meeting with Barber. On Tuesday, Barber arrived at Ag & Auto Diesel and tried to sell the fuel injectors to an undercover investigator for $2,000.

Barber was taken into custody without incident and jailed, Brown said. He is charged with felony possession of stolen property and held on a $25,000 bond.
