Mini-van hits semi truck on I-80Tell North Platte what you think

Three women in a mini-van went for a wild ride ar0und noon Wednesday on I-80, when the driver absent-mindedly drove under a semi-truck.

The wreck occurred around 11:50 a.m. about three miles east of Hershey.

The mini-van and the truck were heading the same direction. The mini-van was passing when the driver apparently got distracted and drove into the semi’s driving axle, according to a Nebraska State Patrol spokesman.

The mini-van spun away and ended up in the median with its front end banged up. Thankfully, no one was injured.

The vehicles were eastbound, according to a resident of the area who saw the aftermath.

A Hershey ambulance and two fire trucks responded, along with a Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputy and a Nebraska State Trooper.
