Grass burns along U.S. 83Tell North Platte what you think
 

About 150 acres of grass burned Wednesday afternoon in separate fires 10 miles north of North Platte.

Lt. John Niles of the North Platte fire department received a call from the Stapleton Fire Department at 2 p.m., aksing for help battling grass fires located about 14 miles south of Stapleton on Llama Road, west of U.S. Highway 83.

The fires were contained by 5 p.m. Niles said. No one was injured and no buildings or homes were damaged. 

Niles said the fires consumed 150 acres of grassland. He did not speculate on the cause of the fires.
