Juniors fall to Westside at stateTell North Platte what you think
 

ELKHORN-The North Platte First National Bank Juniors lost 12-4 to Omaha Westside in the first round of the state tournament on Saturday.

North Platte (28-12) will play Lincoln East in an elimination game on Sunday.

The start of Saturday's game looked promising for the First Nationals. They scored in each of the first three innings and they led 4-1 in the middle of the third inning.

But in the third, Westside scored three runs and the Warriors then jumped ahead in the fourth to take a 7-4 lead. In the fifth, the Warriors scored five runs to finish the scoring.

Bryce Byrn pitched for four innings in the North Platte loss and Braiden Ruffin threw for two innings.

Kade Wroot had two hits for the Nationals.
