A half-block of Leota St. south of the Great Plains Health medical center is closed from Wednesday, July 30 - Aug. 4 for construction work on the hospital.
Despite the closure, the public will be able to access Centennial Park and its soccer fields via Oak Street. No business entrances will be affected, med center spokeswoman Megan Hanson said.
Motorists are advised to use alternate routes when possible, the city engineering office said.
Hanson said Leota St. will reopen at 6 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4.
The closure is requested by Sampson Construction, the general contractor of the hospital construction.
This notice was clarified Tuesday. Only a half-block of Leota from Oak will be closed. - Editor.
