This year's production is "The Trial of the Big Bad Wolf," and featured more than 40 children in the cast.

In the play, the Big Bad Wolf was put on trial, charged with destruction of the pigs houses. The wolf claimed he was a victim because the pigs burned his tail, tricking him so he went down their chimney, landing in a pot of boiling water.

The pigs said the wolf blew down two other houses, obviously posing a threat to their lives. Other storybook characters were called to testify or just came to watch the trial.

The news media sensationalized the proceedings. The town crier came under their influence.

At the end, the jury found the wolf guilty, but the jury also assigned blame on the pigs for burning the tail. The wolf and the pigs got together and pointed fingers at others in the courtroom. Red Riding Hood should not be talking to strangers -- especially the wolf.

They said Little Bo Peep should have taken better care of her sheep and accused Old King Cole was smoking a pipe in a non-smoking building.

Jack Spratt and his wife were accused of poor hygine for licking the platter clean. Jack and Jill were accused of impersonating royalty since Jack was wearing a crown when he fell down.

Performances were held at 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.

Admission was a free-will donation.
