The North Platte United Galaxy, age 14 and under, girls soccer team competed in the Steamboat Springs, Colo. invitational tournament July 18-20.

The Galaxy started the tournament Friday evening  with a 4-3 win over Storm Academy FC. In a Saturday morning match, they defeated the Steamboat Soccer Club, 5-0. That victory earned them a slot in the semi-finals Saturday afternoon where they shut out the Colorado Rush, 6-0.

On Sunday morning they faced the Skyline Select team and earned a hard fought 1-0 win to bring home the championship trophy.

The girls completed a successful season, winning the Nebraska State Spring League, finishing second in the Lincoln Cup, and earning three first place finishes in the Kearney, Stenger and Steamboat Springs, Colo. tournaments.
