A popular attraction for children on Friday was Cat Tales Face Painting. Girls waited in line for painting and glitter tattoos.

Other kids cooled off at the free inflatable water slide.

The 4-H sheep show, open class sheep show and youth sheep show were well attended. Conner Hogan, 11, a member of Sutherland's Beefmaker 4-H club, won the pen of three grand championship ribbon.

"My family has been raising sheep since before I was born," Hogan said. "This is my second grand championship."

He said he has been entering the fair for as long as he can remember.

A show by the "Amazing Hypnotist" was offered in the shade of the entertainment pavilion. Eighteen volunteers stepped on stage and the audience was treated as he put his subjects through laughable antics.

The fun of the fair continues through Sunday.
