The North Platte 10-year-old All Stars, the Nebraska state champions, will open play Friday morning in the Midwest Plains Regional tournament in Chadron.

Nebraska begins pool play with a game against the Colorado state champs, followed by a Saturday morning game against the Minnesota state champs.

The results from pool play in the tourney will dictate the seeding for a single elimination tournament that will be held Sunday.

Teams from Canada, Kansas, North Dakota, Iowa and Missouri are also playing in the tournament. The champion will advance to the Cal Ripken League 10-year-old national tournament in August in Winchester, Va.

The North Platte All Stars consist of Cole Tilford, Treyce Barker, Carsen Johnson, Turner Nicholson, Conner Hasenauer, Kayden Stubbs, Jack Heiss, Dylan Roeder, Cole Wright, Ty Hilderbrand, Derrick Kuhlmann and Joe Stone. The coaches are Steve Heiss, Randy Barker and Ty Barker.
