Juniors comeback falls short against HastingsTell North Platte what you think

HASTINGS-The North Platte First National Bank Juniors fell 9-7 to Hastings on Sunday in the winner's bracket game of the district tournament.

North Platte (25-11) will play Kearney in an elimination game on Monday.

Hastings scored a run each in the first and second innings and then put up six in the third to take an 8-0 lead. The First Nationals got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the third and then they rallied with six runs in the sixth inning to pull within one run.

But that was the closest they got. Hastings got one in the seventh and then held North Platte scoreless to put themselves in prime position to win the district championship.
