Library Director Cecelia Lawrence and staff member Misty McClain will present “Celebrating 50 Years of Dr. Who” at noon July 11, part of the summer brown bag luncheon series of programs.
Dr. Who is a British science fiction television program that first aired in 1963. Dr. Who is a time-traveling humanoid alien.
This program is part of the library's adult summer reading program that explores science in literature.
Dr. Who, a time travel series, is a good fit for this science theme, library spokeswoman Terri Johnson said. Learn about the television show, the doctors and the actors who played them; the companions that accompany the doctor; as well as the enemies.
Everyone is encouraged to attend, whether you already love Dr. Who or are curious about this time-travel series that has been in production for more than 50 years.
This program is free to the public. Please call the library and reserve a seat to help plan seating at 535-8036. Attendees can bring their own lunch. Iced tea and water will be provided.
