Beef State plates available againTell North Platte what you think

The Nebraska Cattlemen and the Nebraska Cattlemen Research and Education Foundation have received the 500 required applications for the “The Beef State” license plate.

The Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles has begun printing the plates, the cattlemen’s group said Tuesday. 

Those who sent in an application for a plate will receive letters from the DMV telling thme when they will receive the license plates.

"The Beef State" was Nebraska's official state motto from 1956-65, when the motto was put on all license plates.

Beef State plates now join other specialty plate options, such as the Huskers, Creighton University and the Friends of Union Pacific RR Museum.

Beef State plates are available for $70.
