The North Platte First National Bank Seniors won their ninth straight game on Saturday night by beating Laramie, Wyo. 11-1 at Bill Wood Field.
Alec Wesslund opened the game for North Platte (19-10) with a leadoff double to right field off of pitcher Nate Hill. Then Jack Kenny brought him home with a single up the middle.
The First Nationals were able to chase Hill from the game in the second inning. Marcus Silos led off with a walk. Then Austin Chitty got a bunt single before Jace Barker drew a walk to load the bases.
Barker was the last batter Hill faced as he was relieved by Joe Legerski. Against the new Laramie pitcher, Wesslund hit a two-run single to center that made it 3-0. Then Kenny followed with another base hit to center to bring in another run.
North Platte scored two more runs on Laramie miscues in the fourth inning. Callaghan reached on an error to score the first and the second came on a passed ball by Ranger catcher Kacey Bernaski.
Laramie scored its only run against pitcher Riley Vieyra in the fifth inning on Harrison Yates' two-out single into left. But the Nationals exploded for five runs in the sixth inning to put the run rule into effect.
