Law officers closed in on a trio of alleged burglars around 9 a.m. Friday morning on South Buffalo Bill Ave. as they were ready to leave with a load of items.

Two men and a woman were arrested.

Investigators acted on a tip that a burglary was imminent at 6587 S. Buffalo Road and kept watch through the night, according to a source close to the investigation. The trio allegedly backed up the house and loaded a trailer. Then officers swept in.

The Nebraska State Patrol was in charge of the arrests, but investigators declined to comment. Instead, they referred questions to the U.S. Attorney’s office in Omaha -- an indication that federal charges will be filed. The U.S. Attorney's office did not reply to a request for information.

Martin Lester White, 42, and Gregory Marvin Skinner, 36, were arrested. Each of them is charged with two felonies – burglary and felon in possession of a firearm.

The woman, Dawn Marie Herweh, 36, was also charged with felony burglary.

They were booked into the Lincoln County jail and are held without bond pending a court appearance.

It is White’s third Lincoln County arrest in 2014. Most recently, he served 14 days in March-April for driving under the influence. He was also a fugitive in Cheyenne County at the time, according to sheriff’s records. He was also sentenced to serve time in both Lincoln County and the Cheyenne County jail in Sidney. Prior to that, he was jailed on Jan 25 for DUI and driving under suspension, for which he served seven days.

White has been arrested nine times in Lincoln County since 1997.

Skinner has a longer record. He was arrested in March on a Custer County warrant. Before that, he was arrested in December and served 53 days for DUS, resisting arrest and possession of aderall. Skinner has been arrested 15 times in Lincoln County since 1997, in addition to Custer County.

It was Herweh’s third Lincoln County arrest in less than a year. She was arrested in November, convicted of domestic assault, and served 30 days in jail, according to sheriff’s records. Before that, she was also charged with assault on Aug. 22 and served 8 days.
