North Platte man resists arrestTell North Platte what you think

A fence was broke and a police officer cut Wednesday, when a suspect put up a fight before he was arrested.

Ppolice responded to a domestic disturbance at 10:46 a.m. Wednesday in the 1100 block of South Tabor, investigator John Deal said.

A woman said her domestic partner Kenneth Cassell, 32, pushed her down during an argument and hurt her. When police tried to arrest Cassell, he grabbed a fence and tried to pull away.

Officers tried to take him to the ground and part of the fence broke. Cassell was eventually subdued, charged with domestic assault and taken to jail. He was also charged with criminal mischief, resisting arrest and assault on an officer.

During the scuffle, one of the officers received a minor cut on his forehead, Deal said.

Cassell is held on a $25,000 bond.
