Hershey high school graduate Tucker Hicks fulfilled a dream Wednesday by accepting a wrestling scholarship to Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa.

Morningside head coach Jake Stevenson came to Hershey for the signing.

When HIcks started making his college plans, Morningside was his first choice. However, he turned down their first offer as it would not meet his financial needs. Hershey wrestling Coach Jeff Linden said the college was able to free up some scholarship money and make him a better offer.

“They really wanted him to come there and came back about a month later with the offer that he accepted,” Linden said.

Hicks was a two-time state tournament qualifier at Hershey, and amassed 40 wins his senior year.

Linden said Hicks is a good student and a hard working athlete who hasn't reached his full potential. “When he hits the weight room he will become a really good college wrestler,” Linden said.

Hicks is the son of Jeff and Paula Hicks.
