For the last several months, we have received harassing phone calls form a company called “Credit Card Services.”
When told by the recorded message that this is our final call to lower our credit card debt, press one, or if you would like to be taken off our calling list, press three, of course we press three. The calls kept coming.
We talked with a real person at the "company" and have told them nicely we are not interested. Then the calls went from once in a while to several times a week.
We filed several complaints with the “Do not call list”, didn’t work. We called the Fraud Hotline, nothing. We have talked with Centrylink and have blocked several phone numbers, but they use several different area codes.
The more we do to stop these calls, the more calls we get. We have had calls come in with our own caller ID. We received a call today from a North Platte number that was four digits different than our own phone number.
I called the police and was told there is nothing they can do. I called the Nebraska Attorney Generals office, nothing they can do. I call the Federal Trade Commission, nothing they can do.
They did say "just hang up and don’t push any buttons. Hopefully the phone calls will stop over time."
These phone calls are a scam. All these agencies we talked with know this, but there is nothing they can do.
