Freddie Leon, 35, was charged May 23 with distribution of a controlled substance – vicodin.

Evidence against Leon accumulated in 2012, when officers worked with a confidential informant who had been contacted by Freddie Leon about a drug transaction, according to the North Platte police.

Police investigator John Deal said an arrangement was made whereby the informant left cash in a vehicle parked in the 600 block of South Jeffers. Leon would drop Vicodin in the unattended vehicle and take the cash.

Police contacted Leon on May 23 and arrested him for distribution of a controlled substance.

He was processed and released the same day at the Lincoln County Jail, according to sheriff’s records.
