School employees in line for 3-percent raiseTell North Platte what you think

Paraprofessionals (teacher aides), custodians, maintenance staff and secretaries at the North Platte Public Schools are in line for a 3 percent raise, business manager Stuart Simpson said recently.

Simpson told the district’s personnel committee on May 20 that paraprofessionals have a union this is negotiating their salary increase.

However, other classified groups such as custodians, maintenance staff and secretaries do not have a negotiating union.

Simpson suggested a 3 percent increase would be appropriate for these groups, which is in line with the amount of increases other school employees are receiving for the 2014-15 school year, according to the minutes of the meeting.
