Lamphear, a recent graduate who will be competing at Cloud County Community College, finished second in Class A on Saturday with a vault of 15-feet, 6-inches. Kevin Cahoy of Grand Island was first at just four inches higher at 15-10.

On Friday, McClellen finished second in Class C for the second straight year. The junior got a height of 15-feet. Tyler Loontjer of Fillmore Central won first place and the all-class state championship with his vault of 16-2 1/2. Loontjer also set the Class C state record with his vault.

Last year, McClellen was second at 14-4 finishing four inches short of Ainsworth's Landon Welke. This year, McClellen defeated Welke, who was third with fewer vaults at 15-feet.

St. Pat's sophomore Katie Montgomery won her first medal in the pole vault. She finished fourth at 10-feet. Morgan Dickson of Sandy Creek won first place after outvaulting Courtney Schindler of Norfolk Catholic.

Brady senior Valerie Most finished her career with three state medals. The North Platte Community College volleyball signee was fourth in the pole vault (10-0), high jump (5-2) and the 100 meter hurdles (15.82 seconds). She also competed in the 300 hurdles but she did not make the finals.

Wyatt McGuire of NPHS ended his high school distance running career with a fourth place finish in the 1600 meter. The future Nebraska runner finished at 4:23.12.
