The 9-ball pool team Duck Soup from North Platte’s Eagles Club is just one win short of advancing to the American Poolplayers Association’s 9-Ball national team championships in Las Vegas.

Duck Soup fell in the finals of the regional championship last weekend in McCook.

The team earned a cash prize for their second place finish.

The regional championship in McCook hosted 28 teams and more than 200 players from all over western Nebraska. The top three teams qualified for the national championships.

The national event in Las Vegas will have more than 400 teams competing for a share of $225,000 in prize money, including $15,000 for the winner.
