Track: May leads Wallace at Dundy CountyTell North Platte what you think

BENKELMAN-The Wallace track and field teams competed in the Dundy County-Stratton Twilight Meet on Friday.

The Wallace boys finished in sixth place and the girls were seventh. The meet was headlined by SPVA champion Imperial, whose boys' and girls' teams, won the meet.

The Wallace boys had five second place finishes. Two of them were by Josh May, who was the runner-up in both of the throwing events.

In the shot put, May threw for a distance of 42-feet, 6 3/4 inches and in the discus, he had 131-7. Justus Wallin of Imperial won both events at 49-9 3/4 in the shot put and 145-1 in the discus.

In the 100 meter dash, Collin Swedberg finished second with a time of 11.3 seconds, two-tenths behind Derek Sis of Perkins County.

Landon Swedberg finished second in the 400 meter dash at 51.9 seconds. Cole Duvel of Dundy County-Stratton was first at 50.7.

In the 1600, Tanner Clough was second with a time of 4:43.60, nearly a second behind winner Holden Dreiling of Imperial at 4:42.7.

For the Wallace girls, Maggie May had the best finish as she finished third in the 400 meters. Hayley Storm also finished fifth in the triple jump and Madisen Messersmith was sixth in the 800. Bridgett Anders was also eighth in the 300 meter hurdles.
