The Art Study League honored North Platte students for their talents Saturday downtown at the Art and Gift Gallery.

It was the third annual honorarium for the students. Each year, two senior students are chosen from North Platte’s two high schools. Students list their art studies and/or interests as well as a description of their works.

Each student displayed two art works in the honorary show.

The honorees and their works are:

• Nick Combs, St. Pats - Silence & Voiceless (oil pastels.)

• Zandra Carlini, St. Pats – Cat, (colored pencil) and Umbrella (acrylic paint.)

• Macy Granger, North Platte High – Spiderman (spray, acrylic paint) and Dog (watercolor.)

• Kayla Smith, North Platte High - Disney & Twiggy (graphites.)

Gift certificates from Odegard’s Art and Framing were awarded to the students. Their works will be on display through

The Art Study League has been promoting art appreciation for 25 years. Their goal is to educate and provide art of every venue for viewing. For example, the Art Study League brings the traveling Sheldon art show to North Platte each year from the Sheldon Gallery in Lincoln.

North Platte’s downtown gallery is steadily undergoing renovation, featuring new wall surfaces.
