Radio broadcaster Sid Fessler is leaving North Platte’s HuskerRadio to take a management position with a Broken Bow radio station. He sent us this letter:
With mixed emotions, I will be resigning from Huskeradio May 16. My family and I gave been given a wonderful opportunity and will be relocating.
I thank Huskeradio, specifically Rob Mandeville, Tony Lama and all of the amazing staff there. I am glad I have been able to work and evolve as a broadcaster there for the past decade.
I am excited for our new endeavor, but I will dearly miss the friends and fans I have made. I want to thank all the administrators, coaches and athletes that I have had the honor to work with and follow over the years, and thank our fans for listening. I will miss you all more than you know.
It has been a great run -- 15 years in the radio business here in North Platte and 10 years commentating games at Huskeradio.
I can’t wait to write the next chapter in our lives, but my eyes will not be dry the day we leave the beautiful city that we have called home for most of our lives. I will leave here a much better broadcaster and person than when I came.
Thank you, North Platte and all the wonderful people here. Goodbye and good luck.
