North Platte man charged for drugs, weaponsTell North Platte what you think

Police stopped a black Chevy Blazer with one working headlight around 11 p.m. Monday and arrested the driver on several felony charges.

Sean Heinemann, 36, is in the Lincoln County jail. His bond is set at $50,000.

Police spokesman Rodney Brown said patrol officers saw the Blazer operating without a front headlight and pulled it over near First and Buffalo.

As they talked with Heinemann, one of the officers saw a Winchester lever action 30/30 rifle that appeared to be intentionally concealed between Heinemann’s leg and the center console, Brown said.

Heinemann was ordered out of the vehicle. The firearm, which was loaded, was seized. A check of Heinemann’s record showed he had a previous conviction for domestic violence and therefore cannot legally own or carry a firearm.

A search of the vehicle turned up ammo and drug paraphernalia that is commonly used in the use and distribution of both methamphetamine and marijuana. Police also found prescription morphine, tapentadol and larozepam pills, burglary tools, plus a large amount of jewelry and several knives, according to the police report.

Officers determined there was probable cause to arrest Heinemann for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of burglary tools, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony and firearms and controlled substance violations.

Heinemann was also cited for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of motor vehicle light requirements and operating a vehicle with fictitious plates, Brown said.

Heinemann's mug shot was not available when this report was written. - Editor
