Frederick breaks Loper pole vault recordTell North Platte what you think

In just her freshman year, Brooke Frederick has already made a big splash at the University of Nebraska-Kearney.

The Hershey native broke the UNK pole vault record on April 24. At the Nebraska Wesleyan Open in Lincoln, Frederick vaulted a height of 12-feet, two and three-quarter inches.

She broke the record set by current teammate Courtney Fegter. Fegter, who is currently a junior from Holdrege, set the previous school record of 12-1 1/4 last year.

At Hershey, Frederick was a two-time Class C champion in the pole vault. She also starred in volleyball and basketball for the Lady Panthers.
