William Butrick was arrested late Thursday and charged with burglarizing the home of a 71-year-old man.

The man called police around 10 p.m. and said Butrick forced his way in and stole nearly $300 in coins, police spokesman Rodney Brown said.

Police caught Butrick, 22, around 11:30 p.m., when they conducted a traffic stop on a car near East Seventh and Bryan and found Butrick driving, Brown said.

Brown said a small amount of the money was recovered. Police charged him with felony burgalry and took him to the Lincoln County Jail.

This is the 20th time that Butrick has been booked into the Lincoln County Jail since August 2010 on a variety of charges, including burglary. He recently spent 15 days in jail on a Keith County charge. He also did time in February for failure to appear and driving under suspension. He has prior charges in Dawson County.
