Sue Perez won the best of show award at the art guild’s spring show.

Perez’s award winning painting is called Halibut Cove. The work also won Joe Odegard's Merchandise Award.

All of the artwork in the spring show will be displayed through May 10 at the newly remodeled Art and Gift Gallery, downtown at 516 N. Dewey. 

The reception for the spring show, as well as the Platter Painters Spring Show, will be from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, April 26.

Visitors can meet artists, enjoy refreshments and see the improvements to the gallery rooms.

 

In the spring show, merit awards went to

'Yellow Truck with Gas Station' by Mary Hasenauer

'Old Red Car with Church' by Mary Hasenauer

'14115' by Sue Heffner

'The Old Barn' by Sue Heffner

'Big Red Tractor' by Sandra Meyer

'Lord of the Jungle' by Sue Perez

'A walk in the Woods' by Judy Roberts

'Night Fliers' by Nora Wood

 

Honorable mentions went to

'Protectors' by Virginia Clark

'Vegetables' by Mary Hasenauer

'Native American' by Mary Hasenauer

'The Storm' by DeDe Hill 

'Taos Plaza' by DeDe Hill

'Hanging out the Whites' by Sandra Meyer

'Dance all Night' by Sandra Meyer

'Crane Couple' by Sue Perez

'Winter Trees' by Nora Wood

'Cheers' by Nora Wood

Cinda's Merchandise Award will go to the People's Choice art piece at the conclusion of the show.

 Also, the Photography Show will be held in May, and in June the gallery will again host the The Nebraskaland Days Competitive Art Show.

The gallery’s regular hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
