Pickup totaled at Jeffers St. intersection Tell North Platte what you think

A 2002 Chevy S-10 pickup truck was totaled Monday in a collision at the intersection of Jeffers and Francis streets.

The pickup was driven by Theodore Daigger, 73, of North Platte. Daigger was headed south on Jeffers when he was hit by an eastbound Ford Econoline van owned by the Nebraska Opportuntiy Center and driven by David Nowatzke, 40, of North Platte.

Nowatzke told police that Daigger ran a red light. His van hit the rear quarter panel of Daigger's pickup, which had to be towed from the scene.

No one was hurt in the wreck. It happened at 8:26 a.m., police said.

Nowatzke was wearing a seat belt and the front airbags deployed in the van, according to the police report.
