Lecturers will talk about child abduction, dieting, First Ladies and understanding people at a glance during the 2014-15 Town Hall Lectures in North Platte.

The lineup:

Elizabeth Smart “The Past and Who You Are” - Wednesday, Sept. 10. (Co-Sponsored by Great Plains Regional Medical Center)

The abduction of Elizabeth Smart was one of the most followed child abduction cases of our time. Elizabeth’s captors controlled her by threatening to kill her and her family if she tried to escape.

After being held prisoner for 9 months, police safely returned Elizabeth back to her family. Elizabeth has become an advocate for change related to child abduction, recovery programs and National legislation. Her life now is a daily demonstration that it is possible to overcome extreme adversity by not allowing your past to dictate your life’s future.

Erin Palinski “Eating Your Way to a Healthier Heart” - Tuesday, Oct. 7

Author of 2 Day Diabetes Diet and Belly Fat Diet For Dummies, Erin promotes nutrition and wellness as an author, media spokesperson, motivational speaker and corporate consultant.

She contributes her nutrition expertise to a variety of national and regional media including The Doctors, CBS News, ABC News, Fox News, Prevention Magazine and Fitness Magazine.

Andy Och “First Ladies: Influence and Image” - Thursday, April 9, 2015

For the C-SPAN series “First Ladies: Influence and Image,” Andy Och spent over a year traveling to nearly every location that helped tell the stories of every First Lady of the United States of America.

He covered Martha Washington through Michelle Obama and visited with people and places all across the country, learning everything he could about these women before, during and after their time in the White House. He is the First Ladies Man, and he is excited to share the stories of his adventures.
