Police jail suspect for meth Tell North Platte what you think

Police stopped a speeding car on East Philip during the night and ended up taking a North Platte to jail.

Police spokesman Rodney Brown said at around 12:40 a.m. Thursday, a patrol officer was parked in the Karl’s parking lot at 901 S. Cottonwood, when a white Oldsmobile Achieva sped past, heading east on Philip Ave.

The officer conducted a traffic stop and issued a warning to the driver, an unidentified 32 year-old woman. He also asked the driver for permission to search the car, and received it.

Brown said the search turned up a small clear plastic baggie containing suspected methamphetamine.

The passenger, Leroy S. Reeves, 24, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance (meth) and jailed.
