Mail: Nebraska cannot afford career politiciansTell North Platte what you think

I hope your readers will take the time to study the candidates and be informed voters as they cast their votes in the important upcoming primary election. There are few duties we have as citizens of this great state and nation as rare and powerful as your right to vote.

I spent some of the most significant years of my career in service to the people of Nebraska as the Sr. Agriculture Advisor and District Director for former United States Congressman Tom Osborne.

I saw firsthand how the process worked and what it takes to be an effective leader representing the people of Nebraska’s vast Third Congressional District.

Nebraska’s Third District is unique in that it is not anchored by a large city; it is made up of some of the greatest production agriculture resources and small cities and towns in the nation. It ranks first among congressional districts in many categories, mostly in agricultural production and rural issues.

Because of the unique nature of our congressional district we must have a strong leader that will stand up for needs of the district. Our district can’t afford weak leadership or career politicians. It is imperative that our representative stand up clearly and provide guidance and vision for the key issues and economic drivers of our district, including agriculture, ethanol and overall economic growth.

Our representative should also reflect the values of the people they represent honoring family, the sanctity of life and respecting and defending the Constitution.

Tom Brewer is that candidate. I have never encountered a political candidate who can so clearly communicate and command leadership the way Tom Brewer does.

As a retired Army Colonel and a highly decorated veteran, Tom Brewer has already proven his leadership and commitment to service. He now has offered to bring that experience to continued service as our Republican Representative in the U. S. House. Please join me in voting for a true leader that will stand up for the people of Nebraska’s Third District.
