A North Platte man was charged Thursday with possession of child pornography after police searched his home.
The investigation began In January. North Platte police received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that someone had uploaded a possible child pornography image to their Facebook page.
Investigators worked with Facebook and determined that the image was uploaded to James Burnside's account, police investigator John Deal said.
Police obtained a search warrant Thursday for Burnside’s home in the 2300 block of West Second.
They found and removed several items of evidence and determined there was probable cause to arrest Burnside for possession of child pornography.
Burnside was charged and jailed the same day.
The investigation is ongoing, Deal said.
