Byron L. Little

Police arrested Bryon Little early Tuesday morning after a wild ride and a search on foot in an east North Platte neighborhood.

Little and another driver were in two cars that zipped down East Philip around 1:45 a.m. , where a passing patrol police officer saw them, police spokesman Rodney Brown said.

Little was driving the second car. He passed the lead car in the center turn lane at approximately 68 miles an hour, near the 700 block.

Brown said the officer turned his car around to try to stop Little, but at no time did Little attempt to slow or stop. He continued east, turning north on Bryan Ave.

Officers caught up to him soon. His red, 2011 Honda Civic failed to make the turn north and crashed into the back porch of a house in the 800 block of S Bryan.

Little took off on foot but police spotted him in the 700 block of S. Belmont. Still, a chase ensued. Little refused to stop and ran into a nearby garage. After several more commands, an officer got him handcuffed and secured in a patrol car, Brown said.

Little was jailed, charged with a bunch of crimes -- second offense driving under the influence, resisting arrest, willful reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident. He was also cited for speeding and possession of drug paraphernalia.

His bond is set at $25,000.
