"It was nice to get this win before GNAC," said NPHS coach Sarah Kaminski. "The girls are confident and they know they can put the ball in the back of the net."

With just under five minutes into the game, Marisa Martinez found an open Taylor Banark who beat Grand Island goalie Brooke Boroff to score the first goal of the game.

Then less than a minute later, Madalynn Doughty scored on an assist by Andrea Manzano to make it 2-0.

About a minute and a half later, Doughty got an assist as the senior set up Sami Tagwerker for the goal that made it 3-0.

In the 10th minute, Martinez scored her first goal on the game and then Alex Neff got into the act by scoring on a header.

Less than a minute after Neff's goal, Banark scored again to make it 6-0. Then with just under 10 minutes remaining until halftime, Doughty scored her second goal to close out the flurry from the Lady Dawgs (4-1).

"The girls pass the ball really well," Kaminski said. "It's the simple things they do that get the job done."

After the break, Banark scored the first goal of the second half to get the hat trick. Tagwerker scored another goal and then right before the end of regulation, Banark got her fourth goal to put the 10-goal rule into effect.
