Two Lincoln County stores flunk alcohol compliance checkTell North Platte what you think

Two stores in Lincoln County illegally sold alcohol to a minor on Saturday, the Nebraska State Patrol announced Monday.

The NSP conducted compliance checks at 19 retail alcohol outlets in Lincoln and Frontier counties; specifically 17 checks in Lincoln County and two in Frontier County.

The retail outlets checked during the effort included convenience, liquor and grocery stores, as well as restaurants and bars.

Out of the 19 compliance checks conducted, two businesses in Lincoln County were found to be non-compliant after selling alcohol to a minor, NSP spokeswoman Deb Collins said.

Law enforcement performs undercover compliance checks at random to monitor compliance with the state’s alcohol laws that decreases youth access to alcohol.

The checks in Lincoln and Frontier counties were paid for in part by a $1,320 grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety, Collins said.

Also, compliance checks were conducted on Friday, April 4, in Adams County (33) and Clay County (17). Out of the 50 checks, one business in Adams County and one business in Clay County were found to be non-compliant, Collins said.
